Body corporate forms and guides

We worked with the Queensland Government’s Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) on a suite of documents that support people to solve body corporate issues. 

We edited 4 forms using plain language principles. This included forms to apply for:

• an adjudicator’s order
• conciliation
• a fee waiver
• a referee’s order.

We made sure the information was presented in a logical order to help readers navigate through the forms efficiently. We also explained complex terms in a way that was precise and worked within the design of the forms.

Our work included guides to support 3 of these forms. We created versions of the guides using a hybrid between plain language and Easy Read. This format allowed us to provide visual guidance to support the text and further break down complex terms.

Our editors and designers worked together to include call out boxes with visual examples to help readers understand how to fill out different sections of the forms. Our designers also used the same visual theme across each form and its related guide to visually link the resources.

Our team worked closely with the client to make sure we maintained consistency across the suite of documents. We also partnered with As We Are Research to carry out user testing for the suite.
