About our plain language services
Our team of editors are experts at turning complex information into plain language. We have worked extensively with government departments and agencies at federal, state and local levels, as well as clients in the disability and community sectors. Plain language can help you communicate with a wider audience, increase engagement, build trust, improve compliance and support decision-making.
Plain language is not ‘dumbing down’ information. It’s providing it in a clear and direct way that benefits everyone.


Plain language editing
When we complete our edit, we apply plain language principles to:
- explain technical or unfamiliar terms and concepts
- aim for an agreed overall reading level.
- reduce sentence length and complexity
- use active voice where possible
- use everyday words

Standard editing
As well as applying plain language principles, we complete general editing for:
- grammar
- spelling
- clarity
- flow.
