Final Report

Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence (RCCOL)

Editing
Topic(s):

We edited the Final Report for the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence (RCCOL). As part of this process, we helped develop the structure of the report as well as the Royal Commission’s style guide. We edited hundreds of end notes to adhere to this style guide and the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (AGLC).

The RCCOL was an ongoing inquiry and we provided editorial services throughout. We needed to complete our work had at short notice when new content became available. This required flexible and responsive work schedules. Confidentiality and file security was vital due to the consequences of the inquiry’s findings and recommendations.
The report includes many difficult concepts and technical language related to gambling and casino regulation.
We advised the RCCOL about:
- what words should be included in the glossary
- how the document could be simplified.
With recommendations that address issues like independent oversight, surveillance, data collection, information sharing and money laundering, the RCCOL has significant social and commercial implications for the Victorian community. We take our editorial work and our commitment to clear communication very seriously and were privileged to be involved in such an important project.
You can find the report on the RCCOL website.
