National Fuel Security Plan

We worked with the Australian Government Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) to produce an Easy Read resource of their National Fuel Security Plan.

The Easy Read explains the government’s plan to make sure there is enough fuel in Australia. This was divided into 4 levels. Each level addressed the role of the community and the actions taken by the government to deal with the fuel-related changes.

Our team worked efficiently with the PM&C to deliver the Easy Read in an urgent timeframe.

This is an essential resource for everyone in the community to recognise the immediate and long-term actions taking place to address fuel availability in Australia. It also allows all people in the community to understand the actions they might need to take while the Plan is in place.

The fast-paced and expanding government response created a complex and rapidly evolving operating environment. The national advertising campaign was already in market for several weeks and resources were being transitioned to a new website to accommodate significant growth in government advice. Despite these challenges, the material achieved strong engagement.

Within a month of the plan’s publication, there were 116 downloads of the Easy Read version and 37 downloads of the text-only document. These statistics demonstrate the increased engagement of people in the community who rely on accessible forms of communication.
