Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan

We worked with the City of Newcastle to produce an accessible version of their Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan. This is a guide to the actions to be taken by both the Council and the community over the next 10+ years. The Council received approximately 5,000 pieces of feedback from the community that they reviewed, which helped inform the plan.

The City of Newcastle needed the document to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards for online accessibility.

We completed a review of the final plan provided by the City of Newcastle and suggested a number of changes to improve the general accessibility of the document. This included refining colour choices and changing heading levels and table formats to align with accessibility requirements.

We also supplied the files to create an HTML version of the plan, resulting in an improved user experience for people on mobile devices and people who use screen readers.
