The Aged Care Bill 2024

We worked with the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) to produce Easy Read and plain language versions of a fact sheet explaining key aspects of the Aged Care Bill 2024 (the Bill) and the steps needed for it to become law. The Bill explains how the Australian Government wants to improve aged care in Australia. If Parliament passes the Bill, it will become a law from 1 July 2025.

We worked closely with DoHAC on this project. Our editorial team made sure the key information in the Bill was clear and easy to understand. For the Easy Read version, our design team implemented circular, instead of square, style icons to help visually separate the ideas on each page. This helped the images to look more cohesive, consistent and easy to follow.

The documents had a high download rate and are extremely popular resources among DoHAC user groups.
