Towards Inclusive Practice website

Client:

Inclusion Australia

Project type:

Accessible websites

Topic(s):

  • Disability access and inclusion

We worked with Inclusion Australia to create a website for their project Towards Inclusive Practice – a place to share accessible resources about inclusive practice.

We’re proud to have worked on this project because of the way Inclusion Australia involved the community in its development. The Towards Inclusive Practice project was co-designed alongside Inclusion Australia’s state and territory members and a network of Inclusion Advisors with intellectual disability.

Four people with intellectual disability were employed by member organisations in each state and territory.

They worked with Inclusion Australia to:

  • review resources and give feedback
  • identify topics that were important to them about inclusion
  • share their experiences of working with government and other organisations
  • give advice on how to be accessible and inclusive.

The resources on the new website focus on areas that include power and trust, inclusive consultations and accessible information. The resources are available in multiple formats including guides, factsheets, tip sheets and videos.

We strongly believe that having different accessible formats like this will help people access information and understand inclusion.

At the time of launch, this website complied with the required Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.
