Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026–2030

We worked with the Mid Murray Council to produce an accessible version of their Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026–2030. The DAIP outlines the Council’s actions in creating a more inclusive and accessible community for people with disability. The Mid Murray Council needed the document to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.

We wrote a report of recommendations after reviewing the supplied document. Some of the suggestions included:

• changing colour selections to align with colour accessibility
• removing merged cells in tables to make it easier for screen reader users
• aligning text to the left to create consistent spacing between words
• removing all capital letters from headings and using sentence case instead.

These actions allow people who use assistive technology and people who have difficulty reading to access the information in a way that is suitable for them.

We also provided the files to create an HTML version of the DAIP, allowing for an improved user experience for people on mobile devices and people who use screen readers.
